Ideal weather… right atmosphere..been doing for over 10 years … bring on next year

As a 71 year old female I was disappointed not to have a 70+ category trophy on offer!

I was one of the last 4 to finish and we were completely disregarded as we finished. The awards were being given out by the organisers as we finished. I'm sure every other finisher was clapped and cheered across the line, even had their name mentioned, but we had nothing except the chip removers. I usually runin this event but had to walk due to ill health this year. My son's girlfriend offered to walk it with me. She has never done anything like this before and she done so well and I was so pleased when she completed it. I felt sorry for her at the lack of acknowledgement at the end. We may be slow but we done the same as every other finisher.

This is a massively different event to normal runs, running along the sand under the cliffs. I've done it for several years now and it's always a highlight of my year as it's so different, picking your own route - so you run in the soft sand and direct or a bit longer on the former sand? The choice is yours. Will be back next year for sure.

Marshals were awesome! Organisation was wonderful - from number collection, cheering all the way to ice cream at the the end (including vegan options - yum)

Running on sand is hard work but it’s fun to do something different! Organisation was slick, and marshals always cheery! Bonus ice cream at the end too!

I’d been looking forward to this race for months, knowing it promised something a little out of the ordinary. After all, how often do you get the chance to run on the beach? The weather couldn’t have been better, the atmosphere was buzzing, and crossing the finish line felt incredible. To top it all off, I celebrated with a well-earned complimentary ice cream.

My continual complaint with Sporting Events why are there age awards for all groups up to 60 and then they are not interested in you. Very poor when other organisations do give age category awards for over 70’s and even over 80’s if applicable.

Brilliant marshals and excellent facilities. Third year in a row I've run it - looking forward to next year!
