We are delighted to be bringing you this event in 2021, raising money for the Aspinall Foundation. Taking place right within the park it is a special chance to see some of the animals at the park.

About the event

The Howletts Run Wild Challenge takes place within the grounds of Howletts Wild Animal Park and gives you a chance to run 5k and the unique opportunity to see lots of different animals around the reserve. The route winds its way all around the site and is open exclusively for the start of the run. This will be a friendly, fun event for all the family with our usual great atmosphere.

By taking part and fundraising for the Howletts Wild Run you will be supporting our vital conservation work and saving wildlife from extinction.

Over the past few years alone, we have bred and released hundreds of animals from our wildlife parks back to their natural habitats in the wild. In Congo, Gabon, Java and Madagascar we are delivering innovative programmes to release animals “Back to the Wild” from both our parks in UK as well as rescuing wildlife from the illegal pet trade and those orphaned from poaching.

All runners will also have access to explore the park at their leisure after the race.

Our Free Event Village will be open from 7:30am on the Grasslands outside of the main park where you will find Race HQ, stalls, food/drink and entertainment. The 5K race both starts and finishes at our event village so please bring spectators along to cheer you on and enjoy the day!

Please note:
•    Race entry includes entry into the main park after the race has finished.
•    Spectators will have to pay park entry prices if they wish to enter the main park.

Howletts Wild Animal Park is easy to get to being just 5 minutes from the A2, near Canterbury in Kent.

100% of the entry fee will go directly to the Aspinall Foundation (less booking fees). Sporting Events UK is managing this event on behalf of the Aspinall Foundation and the event is owned by the Foundation. 

ADVANCED ENTRIES OPEN UNTIL 1PM THE MONDAY BEFORE THE EVENT.

Under UK Athletics rules the minimum age for the 5km race is 11 years for the 5km race.
