ROAD CLOSURE INFORMATION - 13th FEBRUARY 2022 - ASHFORD & DISTRICT 10K RUNNING EVENT

In order to safely hold this event, it is necessary to implement a small number of road closures. This have been approved by Kent Highways through the statutory channels.

We have provided a map below to visually illustrate the roads affected. We hope this helps.

From 9:40am until 10am, it is necessary to close Sandyhurst Lane, from the spot of approximately 372 Sandyhurst Lane to the Faversham Road, for the start of the run. Once the last person has reached Lenacre Street this closure will be lifted immediately and will not be closed after this time.

From 10am until 12:30pm Lenacre Street, Tumbledown Hill and part of Westwell Lane will be closed. Emergency services, carers and essential services will of course be allowed access where necessary. The stretch of Westwell Lane affected is from Tumbledown Hill to The Wheel Inn public house. This is shown in RED on the map below.

Those wishing to access Westwell village are encouraged to use Westwell Lane from Sandyhurst Lane, opposite Ashford Golf Club. This route is shown in PURPLE on the map below.

If you are attending a Church Service in Westwell, please use the PURPLE route below. If you have walking difficulties, or are driving with those who have, please approach our marshals at the closure point, who will then give you access across to the Church in your vehicle when it is safe for both yourselves and pedestrians and runners in the road that is closed. We please ask you to be extra careful and drive slowly with your hazard lights on when doing so.

We very much appreciate your co-operation and understanding on the day.
